Wayne Hunter

Wayne Hunter, 77, of Royse City, Texas, passed from this life on April 10, 2022. Wayne was born on March 23, 1945, to John Hunter and Alberta (Lenhart) Burks, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Wayne enjoyed being outdoors fishing, barbecuing, mowing, golfing, playing tag or kicking the soccer ball with his grandchildren, and watching sports - especially football. He was a faithful man of Christ. He was a man that was willing to give a helping hand when someone needed it. He spent his professional career as a Truck Driver in the construction industry. His gentle nature, calm demeanor, and light-hearted sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Sue Hunter; daughter: Robbie; son: Randy and wife Jennifer; grandchildren: Brittany Wooten and Ryan Hunter; sisters: Donna Hendricks of Grand Rapids, MI, Helen and husband John Green, of Garland, TX, and brother: Frank and wife Von Burks of Euless, TX; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Mathius and Nelidean and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father John Hunter, mother Alberta Burks, stepfather Frank "Bo" Burks, and granddaughter Heather Maples.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Gloryland Baptist Church TX-276, Quinlan, TX 75189. The family will gather with friends after the service.
