Wanda Lou Darling

On Monday, March 3, 2025, Wanda Lou Darling (87) died peacefully in her sleep. Wanda was born Wanda Lou Logan on April 14, 1937 to Homer and Elizabeth Logan in Corsicana, Texas. She met Hamilton Darling in Waco, Texas when she was dancing for the USO and he was completing Air Force Training. They married in 1956 and moved to Kingston, New York where Ham worked for IBM. They had 4 children together but their love story was cut short when Ham died in 1973.

Wanda remarried John Fennell in 1996 in Duncanville, Texas. Their mutual love of travel led them all over the United States pulling their camper behind them. They eventually settled in Canton, Texas where their home was always open to their combined family of 7 children.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hamilton, sister Peggy Sue, brother-in-law Ron and her husband John. Left to remember her are her 4 children – Dawn, Dean (Robin), Deann and Dyann (Clay); John’s children – Liz (Jim), Tim (Pam) and Nancy (Monty); her sister Betty Jo, brother-in-law George along with 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 5 nieces and her precious schnauzer Tiffany.

A private ceremony will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
