Ottilie Berger, age 93, of Greenville, passed away in the early afternoon of Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Hunt Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 25, 1915, in Warsaw, Poland to Heinrich and Karoline Otto. They precede her in death. Mrs. Berger married Hugo A. Berger on May 31, 1941 in Warsaw, Poland and spent 65 years together until he passed away in 2006. Ottilie was a loving homemaker. She lived in Poland and Germany until 1954 when they immigrated to the United States, first in Pennsylvania. They moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 1954 and lived there until moving to Greenville in 2006. Mrs. Berger was an active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Warren, Michigan and also at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville. Ottilie is survived by two sons, Erwin Berger, and wife Audrey, of Furlong, PA and George Berger, and wife Margaret, of Greenville; sister, Theodora Weis of Germany; granddaughters, Erika Theofilou, and husband Nick, of Athens, Greece, Christina Eggleston, and husband Andy, of Endicott, NY, Monica Cox, and husband Mark, of Forney, and Lisa Catravas, and husband Jimmie, of Allen; great-grandchildren, Melita and George Theofilou, of Athens, and Elizabeth, Alexander, and Olivia Eggleston, of Endicott, NY. Mrs. Berger was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eugen, Ludwig, and Gustav Otto. Services for Mrs. Berger will be held at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville with Rev. Nolan Sucher officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland. Visitation will be from 6 " 8 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Peters Funeral Home.
