Molly Marie Roberts, a deeply spiritual and loving woman, passed away surrounded by family Feb 1. She was born in Kissimmee on Feb. 11, 1955, grew up in Orlando and resided in Zellwood, Fla.
She was one of seven children and grew into a life defined by kindness, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Often described as “the kindest person you’ll ever meet,” she touched countless lives through her warmth, humor, and generosity.
Molly was a dedicated nurse, beginning her career with newborns before working in pediatrics and later as a school nurse. Known affectionately as “Nurse Molly,” she cared for generations of children with patience and compassion. Even after retiring, she continued her calling by volunteering at St. Francis Catholic Church. Family was at the heart of everything she did. She never missed a sporting event for her children and grandchildren and found joy in the simple moments—camping trips, days at the beach, and time spent with loved ones. She had a special love for bird-watching, especially cardinals, which she saw as a comforting presence. Molly was also a devoted wife to her late husband, Stephen Roberts, who passed away in 2019. The two shared a beautiful life together, raising their children with love and support. She is survived by son Jon, his wife, Shannon, and their daughter, Grace; son Chris and his wife, Jana; daughter Jackie and her husband, Shane, along with their children Charley, Jackson, and Nash. Other survivors include brothers Barry and Joseph, sisters Sally Varela and Amy Brewer, sisters-in-law Nancy Gear and Loretta Devine and several nieces and nephews. Molly also was preceded on death by her parents, Barry and Charlotte Gear; brothers Charles and James; and nephew Joseph Gear. Molly’s warmth, humor, and boundless love will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the family she adored and the countless lives she touched.
