Peters Funeral Home Obituary Of Miguel (Mike) Pompa, resident of Campbell, passed away on Saturday August 7, 2010 in Greenville. His visitation is Monday, August 9, from 6-8 PM at Peters Funeral Home. His Funeral Service is Tuesday, August 10, 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Campbell with pastor Cary Kinnaird officiating . Mr. Pompa was born on June 15, 1921 in Commerce, the son of Damian G. Pompa and Julia Losa Pompa. He served his Country in the United States Army in WWII from 1940-1945. He was discharged as a Staff Sergeant in company L, 12th Infantry. Married Hattie Kimbell Pompa in April 1949. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Bankston of Campbell; brother, Jesse and Lea Pompa of Cumby; two granddaughters, Kim and Don Whyte of Hallsville, Robin and Jeff Wheat of Cumby; five great grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Glezen, Wade Whyte, Mitchell, Matthew, and Mallory Wheat; fourteen nieces and nephews, Jacinto and Jill Martinez, Lupe and Billie Martinez, Tino and Maria Martinez, Johnny and Marna Martinez, Paul and Cindy Martinez, Ralph Martinez, Mary Martinez, Margaret Martinez, Patricia Thompson, Danny Pompa, Leah and Collin Kanaman, Lynn and David Petty, Julia and Ron Burkett, and Carmelita Pompa. He is preceded in death by his wife, of fifty years, Hattie Kimbell Pompa who met her Lord in 1999; father and mother, Damian and Julia Pompa; sister, Sabina Pompa Martinez; brother, Carmen Pompa.
