Miguel Angel Miranda, 88; passed away quietly in Bonham, Texas on Thursday, November 8, 2012 after a long illness. Miguel was born on September 29, 1924 to Adulio and Dolores Miranda in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Miguel would meet and later marry Josephina Arroyo on December 18, 1942 in San Juan. To this union were born four children; Carmen, Mike, Jose and Ed. Miguel would go on to serve his country in the United States Army for over twenty-three years. He would serve in both Europe and Africa during World War II; and also serve overseas during the Korean Conflict. Miguel would continue to serve in the Army as an expert in small arms repair and maintenance. Miguel is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife of 70 years, Josephina; his daughter, Carmen Lorenz and her husband Gene; his sons, Jose Miranda, Mike Miranda and his wife Jodi and Ed Miranda; his grandchildren, Carrie Ann, Daniel, Brandon, Don and Nikko; as well as numerous friends and neighbors. At this time, no services are scheduled. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
