Michael Compton

Michael Loyd Compton, 67; passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in McKinney, Texas. Michael was born on July 13, 1947 to Loyd C. and Lorene Compton in Paris, Texas. Michael would serve his country with honor in The United States Army. Michael was a talented creative writer. He wrote poetry, short stories, songs and a novel. Michael was also a contributing writer to the Greenville Herald Banner for many years. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Lorene Compton and his brother Steve Compton. Those left to celebrate his life include his brother, Rick Compton; nieces and nephews, Keith Compton, Christie Compton, Shylar Compton and Sky Compton; his good friend and brother, Bruce Hamilton; as well numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral.
