Mary Tanton

Mary Juanita Tanton, 76, of Greenville died in the late morning hours of June 11, 2008, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Greenville. Miss Tanton was born in Nevada, Collin County, on Feb. 27, 1932, to William Washington and Carrie Nelson Tanton; they preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 10 children. One sister, Faye Miller, of Garland, survives as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services are at 10:30 a.m. today in the Peters Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Vernell Nelson and Rev. Joyce Pattison officiating. Burial follows at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
