Mary Elizabeth Henley

Mary Henley passed away on May 10, 2023. There will be a funeral service at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

She was the daughter of Charlie and Nannie Morgan. She was married to Arthur Henley on January 11, 1945, he preceded her in death in November 2003 with alzheimer’s.

Mary is survived by Karen Lockhart of Boerne; grandchildren, Angie Wilson of Midlothian, Randy Huyck of Boerne, and Josh Huyck of Mansfield; step-grandchildren, Jacklyn Lockhart and David Lockhart; great-grandchildren, Braeden Reed, Lucas Wilson, Brea Huyck, and Brantley Lockhart, along with several nieces and nephews; five brothers and sisters preceded her in death, Lorine Henley, Pauline Taylor, Ray Morgan, Leon Morgan, and Frank Morgan.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Duncanville for 33 years, a member of Sunday school class and UMC. Mary moved to Greenville in 2000 and joined Wesley Methodist Church where she was still a member and joined Alpha Sunday school class and Supremes. She had a lot of friends and kept in contact with some of them, close friend, Nell Crader of Wills Point for 56 years. Mary enjoyed her three grandchildren as they were growing up, spending time with them and taking them places. She also enjoyed reading, watching TV, game shows, cooking shows, and church services.
