Mary Alice Glasgow, a beloved homemaker who found profound joy in caring for her children and spending cherished moments with her family, passed away on August 9, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 20, 1939 to John and Emma Lou Gainer.
Mary's life was dedicated to the love and nurturing of her family. Her role as a homemaker allowed her to fully embrace the joys of motherhood and create a warm and loving environment for those she held dear. Whether it was preparing delicious meals or creating lasting memories during holidays, Mary's presence radiated warmth, love, and laughter.
With a heart as kind as hers, Mary possessed an inviting spirit that made everyone feel welcome in her presence. Her genuine and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. Alongside her great sense of humor, Mary knew how to bring people together through laughter and cheerful conversations.
In honor of Mary's life, her loved ones will be hosting two heartfelt events at Peters Funeral Home located at 4201 Wellington St., Greenville, TX 75401. The visitation will take place on August 15, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. This will be a time for family and friends to gather and reflect upon the beautiful memories shared with Mary.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on August 15th. This solemn occasion will serve as an opportunity to pay tribute to Mary's life and bid farewell as she embarks on her eternal journey.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew her best. She is survived by her loving husband Ray Williamson along with their sons James and Mike Glasgow. Additionally, David Williamson (step-son), Sandra Tompkins (step-daughter). Grandchildren: Natasha Glasgow and partner Walker Kobelan, Kristal and husband Vince Patterson, Jamie and wife Kati Glasgow, Taylor and wife Emily Glasgow, who continue to cherish Mary's memory. The love she shared will also live on through her great- grandchildren: Kailiegh Swanson, Peyton Madison, Gavin Glasgow, Kenzleigh Wall, Gage Patterson, Jaxon Glasgow, Grayson Patterson, Weston Glasgow, and Tate GlasgowMary is preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Emma Lou Gainer, her beloved husband Jim Glasgow, her sisters, Willie, Louise, Patricia “Cheetah,” and Ruby as well as her brothers, Johnny, Tommy, and Billy, and grandson Jeremy Glasgow.
In addition to her immediate family members listed above. Mary leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends whoselives were profoundly touched by her unwavering kindness.
