Mary Frances Gaston, age 82, of Emory, passed away in the late evening hours of Monday, January 31, 2011 at her home in the loving care of her husband. She was born on February 4, 1928 in Gilmer, Texas to Huel and Birdie (Warren) Goodson, they preceded her in death. Mary married Sammie Leon Gaston on February 2, 1946 in Gilmer and together spent the next 66 years raising a family and creating a life time of memories not soon to be forgotten. Mary was homemaker but took on several jobs and will be best remembered for her skills as a seamstress. She enjoyed making tailored suits and clothing. Mary was also an excellent cook and gardener. She treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren and would do just about anything to find time to be with them. As Lake Fork grew she became an avid fisherman and could out fish most everyone in the family. She also attended various churches with her friends. She is survived by her husband S. L. Gaston; sons, Edward Gaston, and wife Gwenda, of Burleson, Bobby Gaston, and wife Alice, of Navarre, FL., Jerry Gaston, and wife Phyllis, of Crowley, Kevin Gaston of Burleson, and Rex Gaston of Wills Point; sister, Lucille Fowler; brother, Roy Goodson; and by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Emory with Brother Tommy Gaston officiating.
