Marvin M. Smith, 75, passed away at his home on June 5, 2012 surrounded by his family. Marvin was born September 13, 1936 to Harvey and Morene Smith in Waco, Texas. Marvin was a simple man of simple tastes and pleasures. He loved riding his motorcycle and being on the open road; but most of all he loved his family. Marvins greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marvin served his country in the United States Armed Forces and worked for many years as a mechanical engineer for General Motors. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Morene. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Delores; his sons, Michael Smith, Franklin Smith and his wife Nina and Christopher Goode and wife Petra; his daughters, Pamela Spain and her husband Anthony, Debra Burton, Stephanie Lynch and her husband Thomas, Lana Smith and Crystal Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors. His love of life and all things in it will truly be missed. A gathering of friends will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peters Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Lynch Memorial Park on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
