Lorene Compton

Lorene M. Compton, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. Lorene was born on December 3, 1924 to Wright and Gertennd Fink in Roxton, Texas. Lorene met and later married Loyd Compton. Lorene worked for many years at Texas Instruments as a technician. She would later retire from this position only to find other things to do with her hands. Lorene was constantly serving someone. She worked for a time as caregiver for several facilities and organizations. She volunteered at the Knights of Pythias House in Greenville. Even in her later years, Lorene was always asking others how she could help. Her's was a servant's heart, giving spirit and open arms. She is one who will truly be missed. Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, Wright and Gertennd Fink; her husband, Loyd Compton; son Steve Compton; brothers, Buddy, Curtis Henry, Edward Lee, James Luther, and Jim; sisters, Irene, Lillian and Opal. Those left to celebrate her life include her sons, Rick Compton and Mike Compton; grandchildren Keith Compton, Christie Compton, Shylar Compton and Sky Compton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memoryland Memorial Park immediately follow the service.
