Lois Orr

Lois Laverne Orr, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the early afternoon at the Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. Ms. Orr was born in Greenville on January 20, 1926 to Floyd Henry and Evelyn Lowe. They precede her in death. After graduation from high school, she married Robert Ransom Orr, Jr. in Durant, Oklahoma. He also has preceded her in death. Lois is survived by one daughter, Debby Cunningham, of Commerce; one son, J.B. Orr, and his wife Kazuko, of North Charleston, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Shane and Brett Tarpley, of Commerce, and Lisa Kemp and Jennifer Jones, of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Kansas Tarpley, Kaylee Kemp, Jayden Jones, and Jordan Jones; two sisters, Dorothy McGee and Tootie Deaton, of Greenville; one brother, Floyd Lowe, of Greenville; two sister-in-laws, Pearl ONeal and Martha Orr; one brother-in-law, James Orr; one niece and several nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her. Services for Ms. Orr will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Peters Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Monday evening.
