Joy Moore, age 72, of Greenville, passed away early in the afternoon Thursday, January 7, 2009, at the Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. She was born on August 28, 1936 in Hunt County, Texas to James Emanuel and Jennie Lee Tippit. They precede her in death. Upon graduation from college, Mrs. Moore served in the United States Air Force and then worked as an accountant. She married Billy R. Moore; he also precedes her in death. Mrs. Moore was recognized as Whos Who of the Registry of Business Leaders and received honors as 2001 Woman of the Year by the American Biographical Institute. She also was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore is survived by two nephews, Steven Tippit, and wife Denise, and Larry Tippit; one niece, Diana Gifford, and husband Mike; one sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Flowers, and husband Marvin; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah, Sam, and wife Chelsey, Noah, and Sidney Tippit, Amelia Tippit, Kim, Chris, and Paige Prieto, Ryan and Bud Toon, and Laura, Katie, and Buster Gifford; the family of Billy R. Moore; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Guy H. Tippit. Services for Mrs. Moore will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Peters Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Moore and Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 6 " 8 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
