Jose Castro

Jose Lopez Castro, 84, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Greenville, Texas. Jose was born to Martin Lopez and Petra Castro on November 12, 1927 in San Filipe, Guanajuato, Mexico. Jose spent his life as an artist in leather working, creating and designing saddles. He was a loving husband to Rafaella and beloved father of Joe, Rosa, Rodolfo, Yolanda, Ernesto, Juvenal and Laura. He will truly be missed. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Petra; as well as his three brothers and one sister. Those left to remember his life include his wife, Rafaella; sons, Joe Calderilla and his wife Terri, Rodolfo Calderilla and his wife Rosario, Ernesto Lopez and his wife Nasaria and Juvenal Lopez and his wife Cecelia; daughters, Rosa Elena Rosales and her husband Manuel, Yolanda Rodriguez and her husband Angel Hernandez and Laura Navas and her husband Luis; sixteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends and neighbors. A rosary will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Merit Cemetery. Reverend Paul Weinberger will officiate.
