Born in Dallas, TX on January 21, 1953, Mr. John D. Christie of Cooper, Texas made his homegoing to be with His Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of February 22, 2024. John was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Christie and Pauline E. Christie (nee Crump), his wife Phyllis E. Christie (nee Woodard), and his brothers James and Oney. Mr. Christie is survived by his sister-in-law, Jeanette Christie of Cooper, Texas, his extended family Mr. and Mrs. Paul Aguilar of Miller Grove, Texas and nephews Jeremy Christie of South Carolina and Gary Christie of Longview, Texas.
John was a valued caretaker and Ranch Foreman at the Cross-Dubya Ranch in Cooper, where he cared for the livestock and land with his friends and brother- and sister-in-Christ, Jim and Diane Wininger. His love for animals, nature, and the farming and ranching life he had known from his youth was evident in his dedication to every task he so joyfully performed. A member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas, John D. Christie has been freed from the bonds of this human condition and is reunited with his loving family and Savior in glory.
