Jo Kern

Jo Ann Kern, 76, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 in Greenville, Texas. Jo Ann was born to Lawrence L.D. and Pearl Hardy in Henderson, Texas on July 11, 1937. Jo Ann wore many hats during her life- boss , friend and wife. But her favorite hats were Mother and Sister. Jo Ann loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her open heart; infectious smile and wonderful laugh made her a friend to everyone she met. Jo Ann was a member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ for over ten years. She loved spending time with her fellow believers worshiping or playing Chicken Foot on game nights. She will truly be missed. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, L.D. and Pearl; her brother, Lenard Hardy; sisters, Judy Kern and Shirley Hearne. Those left to celebrate her life include her sons, Joey Grant and his wife Judy, Melvin Grant; daughter, Cheri Stoner; brother L.D. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Jenny; sisters, Jane Mullican, Lois Wesson and Yvonne Sutton and her husband John and her cousin Sue Sistrunk, who Jo Ann called sister ; husband, Rudolph Kern, Jr. and her faithful companion, Gigi ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. A celebration of Jo Anns life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson Street Church of Christ Fellowship Hall in Greenville, Texas. Donations in Jo Ann's name can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
