Jimmy Dale McIntosh

March 15, 1957 — September 29, 2024

Caddo Mills , Texas

Jimmy Dale McIntosh was born on March 15, 1957 in Piggott, Arkansas to Donald and Wilma McIntosh. He passed away on September 28th in Greenville, TX.

Jimmy graduated high school in 1975 from Neff High School in La Mirada CA. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Navy from 1975-1977 when he received an honorable discharge. He then became a licensed master plumber and helped build the infrastructure of many buildings in Southern California and Texas. After that, he was a plumbing inspector for Garland, Texas until he retired.

He was a hardworking, caring, charming, generous, and determined man. He was always willing to lend a hand when someone needed help, especially with plumbing. He married Nancy, the love of his life, on November 6, 1987. He goofed around with his son and then later his grandchildren. Play time with Pops was a favorite activity. He loved competing in equestrian events together as a family. He did cutting on his horse, The Kid, and team penning as a whole family. Jim loved helping his son become a bareback and saddle bronc rider in high school rodeo. Watching his son compete was a great source of pride. You could always find him back behind the chutes, ready to help in whatever was needed. One of his proudest moments was watching his son become a father himself. He was very proud of the godly man he turned into. He found joy in playing guitar, fishing, and tinkering around on his 1949 Oldsmobile. He took pride in teaching his son and others to play guitar and was an accomplished guitarist. He only needed to hear a song once in order to learn it. He performed for many friends and family.

Jimmy is survived by: his mother, Wilma (Griffith) McIntosh; his siblings, Mikel McIntosh (Debbie), Gary McIntosh (Kelly), and Marsha (McIntosh) Oler (Randy); his wife, Nancy McIntosh; his son, Taylor McIntosh (Emily); his grandchildren, Kaye Ann McIntosh and Elizabeth McIntosh; his stepson, Jebin Harvey (Denise); and his 4 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald McIntosh.
