Jimmie Steele

Jimmie Steele, age 76, born on October 24, 1938 the son of Felix Steele & Bessie Davis has gone to his heavenly home after a strong battle against cancer. Mr. Steele passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his residence. His devotion to his family and his belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. His wife, children, and other loved ones were by his side until the end. Jimmie is survived by: his loving wife, Vicki; children, James & Cathy Steele, of Caddo Mills, John & Lisa Steele, of Sherman, Joe & Sharon Steele, of Rockwall, Jeffery Steele, of Richardson, Jesse & Kelly Steele, of Sulphur Springs, and Julie Steele, of Fate; step-children, Rebecca Surgenor & Corey Wilson and Damian Surgenor; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; twin sister, JoAn Balser, of Lafayette, IN; sisters Mary Houghland, of Fayetteville, and Betty & Bill Brockunier, of Springdale, AR; brother, Shelby & Cathelyn Steele, of Springdale; Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by: his first wife of almost 50 years, Elizabeth Steele; parents, Felix & Bessie Steele; older sister, Louise Jones; older brother, Charles Steele; younger brother, Felix Steele; and two sons, Jimmy Dale Steele and Jerrad Keith Steele. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home. Funeral services for Jimmie Steele will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home, 4201 Wellington St., Greenville, TX. Interment will immediately follow at Nevada Cemetery. After the graveside services refreshments will be served at Lone Star Cowboy Church.
