Jerry Wayne Chote, age 70, of Campbell, passed away in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, January 20, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 2, 1940 in Paris, Texas to George and Loretta Conkle Chote. Jerry married Havah Jane Roach in Paris on September 23, 1961 and together they spent the next nearly 50 years raising a family and creating a lifetime of memories that will live on in the lives of those Jerry knew and loved. Jerry worked in the construction industry and in his free time he would have been found hunting, fishing, or riding horses, but his greatest source of happiness came from the time he spent with his family. Jerry is survived by his wife; children, Vonda Nolen, and husband Jessie, of Terrell, Terry Langford, and husband Todd, of Royce City, Loretta Lynn Hargrove, and husband Lonnie, of Campbell, Kathy Jane Herndon of Caddo Mills, Sherry Driska, and husband Louis, of Grand Prairie, Michael Wayne Chote, and wife Amanda, of West Virginia, and Randy Chote, and wife Elizabeth, of Campbell; mother, Loretta Chote; and 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Chote and his father George Chote. Cremation services are being handled through Peters Funeral Home in Greenville.
