James Franklin Vaughn, 70; passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. James was born on November 18, 1942 to Walter and Melba Vaughn in Bonham, Texas. James met and later married Mary Alice on August 12, 1977 in Greenville, Texas. James would serve his country with honor in the United States Army. Following his military service, James became a field engineer for FEC and would remain there for over 30 years until his retirement. James is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Melba and one son, James Michael Vaughn. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Mary; sons, Shawn Vaughn and his wife Michelle, Justin Vaughn and his wife Angie, Isaac "Eddie" Burns and his wife Angie, Marty Burns and his fiancee Paula; daughters, Kim Block and her husband Hugo and Edwina Burns; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter Vaughn, Jr and his wife Ramona and Paul D. Vaughn; as well as numerous neices and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Salem Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
