James Massey Jr.

James Robert Butch Massey, Jr., age 58, of McKinney, Texas, passed away at the Medical Center of McKinney in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, May 27, 2009 surrounded by his family. Mr. Massey was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to James Robert Massey Sr. and Lorena Woody Massey. He was one of 17 children born from this marriage. Butch married Mildred Whitaker Massey, she precedes him in death. He had a love for music, fishing, and drinking beer but he loved his family the most. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by one son, Robert Massey, and wife Shenna, of Royse City; three daughters, Lorena Clark, and husband Danny Fronterhouse, of McKinney, Diana Litton, and husband Rusty, of Wolfe City, and Karen Grady, and husband Vernon, of Wolfe City; one daughter-in-law, Treva Massey, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Kathy, Julie, Kourtney, Aaron, Kacey, Paige, Josh, Baylee, Tyler, Angel, Dylan, Lacy, Chance, Sadie, and Calvin; one great-grandchild, Graycie; brothers, Johnny, Donny, Ronny, Charles, and Michael Massey; sister, Barbara Edmond, Linda Mallow, Judy Porter, Mary Alice Kidwell, Linda Gibson, and Brenda White, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his wife; one son, James Topper Massey; one grandson, J.T. Massey; his parents; and two brothers, Tommy and Raymond Massey. Services for James Butch Massey, Jr. will be held Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Peters Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cumby City Cemetery with Robert Massey, Danny Fronterhouse, Rusty Litton, Vernon Grady, Kacey Clark, Aaron Massey, Shelby Brown, Cameron Turner, Tyler Litton and Josh Massey serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
