Houston Oral Evans, 81 passed away on May 11, 2012 in Bonham Texas. He was born on May 14 1930 in Oil Center, Oklahoma to Ulva and Myrtle Roberts Evans. Houston served four years In the Marines and another four years in the Air Force. He served active duty during the Korean and Vietnam wars where he was awarded two purple hearts and other numerous medals. He retired from E-Systems where he worked for many years and held several positions. Houston was married to Margaret Joy Howell on December 5th 1952 and they enjoyed 59 wonderful years together where they had 4 children and made their home in Lone Oak, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulva and Myrtle Evans; sister Aileen Haggard; brother, Jerry Evans; and son Jeffrey James Guffy Evans Sr., and granddaughter Stevie Lynn Ray. He is survived by his wife Margaret of Lone Oak, Texas; brothers Donnie Evans and wife Ann and Doyle Evans all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; His daughters, Marjean Allen and Victoria Evans, and son Gary Evans all of Greenville, Texas. His grandchildren Aaron Evans, Jeramy Slemmons and wife Cori and their children Kyle, Beau, and Rylee of Emory, Texas; Miranda Johnson and fiance David McDaniel, and their children Hunter, Jakeb, Steven, and Allece of Sulphur Springs, Texas; Joshua Christian and wife Lee and their children Bailey, Cooper, Harper, and Breanne of Emory, Texas; Kristyn Evans of Mabank, Texas; Jeffrey Evans and wife Jill and their children Gage and Gunner of Quinlan, Texas; Colten Lovvorn and his fiance Shelby Wellman of Emory, Texas; Stormie Evans of Greenville, Texas; Shiann Evans of Celeste, Texas; Britney Allen of Greenville, Texas, Breanne Hamilton of Lone Oak,Baily Anderton, and John Anderton. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends. Pallbearers are Jeramy Slemmons, Joshua Christian, Colten Lovvorn, Hunter Allen, Jeffrey Evans Jr., and David McDaniel. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday May 16, 2012 from 6-8 pm in the Chapel at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. Services will be held Thursday May 17, 2012 at 10 am in the Chapel at Peters Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak, Texas afterwards.
