Gloria Allison

March 20, 1929 — April 29, 2010

Gloria G. Allison, age 81, of Greenville, passed away in the morning hours of Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. She was born on March 20, 1929 in Mercedes, Texas to Cleaver and Audrey Wynne Sandlin, they preceded her in death. On October 27, 1985 she married Donald G. Allison in Irving and together shared over 20 years, until his passing in April 2007. Ms. Allison loved cutting jokes and telling stories about her childhood but anyone who knew her will most remember her for being a Mom to everyone, young and old. She was known as Sarge to those she took care of at the Traditions Group with Alcoholics Anonymous of Greenville. Her sense of humor and stern, but loving, care will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three children, Billy Peevey, and wife Cindy, of Garland, John Peevey, and wife Beverly, of Dallas, and Mike Peevey of Greenville; one brother, Jimmy Sandlin, and wife Imagene, of Santos, TX; one-step daughter, Rene Rowland of West Salem, OH; one step-son, Donnie Allison of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Ms. Allison will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Peters Funeral Home with Pastor Jim McIntire officiating. Burial will follow at Stranger Cemetery in Stranger, Texas at 3:30 P.M. with Boyce Raney, Homer Dale Manson, Mike Ward, Duane Kjer, Jimmy Adams, and James Moore serving as pallbearers. A visitation will begin at 10AM Saturday before the service.
