Fred Stephens

Fred Stephens, 81, of Greenville went to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, December 20, at his residence. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, December 28 at the Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Ballard officiating. A private family interment will follow. A gathering of friends and family will be 3-5pm Sunday, December 27 at Peters Funeral Home, 4201 Wellington.

Fred was born August 24, 1934 in Greenville, Texas to Olin Stephens and Ruth Brigham Jackson. Fred proudly served his country in the US Army. Later he married Marlene Smith on August 24, 1973 in McKinney. He worked as security for E-Systems and at the local hospital in the electrical and maintenance department.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 42 years Marlene Stephens; daughters Dometric Blaylark and husband Melvin of Dallas, and Cathy Miller of Commerce; sons Elvin Stephens and wife Lisa of Greenville, Barry Stephens and wife Christine of Mt. Pleasant, James Hamilton of Greenville, Rocky Blackwell and wife Mary of Niceville, FL, and David Blackwell and wife Christy of Greenville; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother Billy Jackson and wife Geraldine of Plano. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Ellen Pierce and Shirley Veasey.
