A Celebration of Life party for Elizabeth “Betsy” Browne Crawford, age 83, of Farmersville, TX will be held from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at 2910 Gail Drive, Farmersville, TX 75442 on Saturday, January 11, 2024h. Betsy loved colorful things: stained glass, opals, and her beloved Troll Beads, so the family is asking attendees to wear something colorful (or sparkly) to the party in her honor. Elizabeth Crawford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 16, 2024.

Elizabeth Frances Browne was born in Washington DC on November 1, 1941, to Eva Elizabeth Moore and James Donald Browne. She grew up in DC. Her education started at Maret School for Kindergarten through 12th grade, where she learned French starting in kindergarten. She loved to play sports – field hockey, basketball, and tennis. She once even played a practice game with Poncho Gonzales!

She married Michael Allen Crawford at St. Albans Church on the grounds of the Washington Cathedral on August 10t, 1963. Betsy and Mike met at Georgetown University. Throughout her life, Betsy had many occupations that she loved. She drove a school bus, sold real estate, sold Mary Kay cosmetics, and Longaberger baskets, but the job she cherished most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was present at the birth of each of her grandchildren, even traveling to Scotland to see her first grandchild being born.

Always having a passion for pugs, Betsy’s had 5 of them, and even a couple litters of puppies sharing the love of pugs through the family, and competed in dog shows for a time. She also loved to travel! In addition to putting many miles on her car visiting family around the country, she visited Scotland, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Dubai, Egypt, Russia and Italy.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Michael Allen Crawford, her 3 children, Elizabeth Anne Coruzzi (Robert), Kathleen Grace Mathson, James Eldon Crawford, and 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Moore Browne and James Donald Browne. The online register book can be signed at www.murrayorwosky.com
