Donnie Lynn Spoonemore, age 47, of Greenville, passed away at his home in the early evening hours of Saturday, December 25, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 27, 1963 in Greenville to Norman Lynn and Shirley Payne (Lanier) Spoonemore. Donnie worked as a Power Plant Specialist, he was a machinist, and a good ol country boy . He loved the cowboy way of life. He was a roper and a horseman. Those who knew Donnie will remember his strong personality but his gentle heart. He had a special love for his mama and daddy but his greatest joy and happiness came from the time he shared with his children and grandchildren. Donnie is survived by son, Philip C. Spoonemore, and wife Christina, of Greenville; daughter, Ashley Spoonemore of Greenville; step-son, Joe T. Thompson of Celeste; wife Kathy Spoonemore of Greenville; parents, Norman and Shirley Spoonemore, of Greenville; and grandchildren, Clay Thomas Spoonemore, Ashlyn Nicole Spoonemore, Kaytlyn Abbot, and Addison Kampwerth. Services for Donnie Spoonemore will be held at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Peters Funeral Home with Pastor Don Giddens officiating. Gary Kirkpatrick, Russell Carter, Joe Greene, James Shorty Shortnassey, Michael Sheets, Wade Sheets, Weldon Sheets, John Taylor, Jim Eudy, Billy Don Eudy, and Dan Soles will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Spoonemore will be cremated at a later date.
