David William Wilkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully after a long battle with MSA on August 25, 2023. Born on July 8, 1960 in Whittier, CA. to David and Martha Wilkins. David led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and numerous accomplishments.

David's passion for construction shone brightly throughout his career. He dedicated many years to honing his craft and left a lasting impact on the industry. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail made him well-respected among his colleagues.

He served in the National Guard as well as attending NCO school with a high security clearance was another significant chapter in David's life.

Outside of work and military service, David had many interests that brought him immense joy. Woodworking was one of his talents, and he took great pride in crafting beautiful pieces with precision and skill, that he shared with his wife Shurree.. When he wasn't busy constructing something amazing, David loved spending time with horses that was a big part of his childhood. The bond between him and these majestic creatures brought tranquility to his soul.

But above all else, David cherished moments spent with his family. He derived endless happiness from watching his granddaughters play softball and took immense pride in their achievements. His loving presence at every game will be deeply missed.

David had an extraordinary personality that touched the lives of those around him. Kindness radiated from within him - he was always welcoming and had a heartwarming smile for everyone he met. His sense of humor was infectious, bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to share his company. David had the remarkable ability to lighten the mood and make those around him feel at ease.

David is survived by his loving wife, Shurree L. Hunsaker Wilkins (Yantis, TX.), sons, Nathon R. Wilkins (Yantis, TX.), Aaron K. Wilkins (Yantis, TX.), and Jacob W. Wilkins and wife, Alisha D. Wilkins (Emory, TX.), granddaughters, Elizabeth J. Wilkins (Amersterdam, the Netherlands), Alexus D. Wilkins (Emory, TX.), and Dakota W. Wilkins (Emory, TX.), his father, David Leon Wilkins (Ada, OK.), sisters, Martha Jo Padilla (California), Tina Ornelas (TX.), Angel Salazar (Oregon), Nita Gonzalez (TX.), and Lydia Byone (TX.), Amelia Latham (TX.), brothers, Barry Wilkins (OK.), James D. Wilkins (TX.), John S. Wilkins (CA.), Chris Wilkins (OK.), and Matthew Wilkins (OK.), brother in law, Bruce W. Hunsaker (TX.). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart, along with great nieces and nephews who will carry on his memory.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Mary Sparkman and niece, Zya Byone.

During this difficult time, let us remember David William Wilkins as a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many people. May we draw strength from the beautiful memories we shared with him. David's legacy will live on through the love he bestowed upon his family and friends. We will forever hold him close in our hearts.
