David Jacks

David Oscar Jacks, 69, Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Mr. Jacks was born on August 29, 1939 in Quinlan, Texas to Henry and Odessa Jacks. He graduated from Caddo Mills High School in 1958. He married Sammie Jo Daniel on August 21, 1962. After serving four years in the Air Force, he worked for Texas Instruments and retired in 1994. He continued to work at Texas Brazing. He was a faithful employee and recently retired from his last and favorite job at DW Lumber in Greenville. David loved being at home, driving his tractor, going to family gatherings, and playing with his grandson. David is survived by his wife of Greenville, two sons; David Jason Jacks of Livingston and Daniel Cory Jacks and wife Kimberly of Greenville, grandson Vance Eli Jacks of Greenville, two brothers, James Jacks and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs, Mike Jacks of Grapevine, four sisters, Wilma Hulsey and husband Gene of Paris, Sally Burkett and Mary Ellen Lambert both of Greenville, Jo Ruth Groom and husband Billy of Mt. Vernon, sister-in-law Darnell McQueen and husband Barney of Sulphur Springs, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leon Jacks and Johnny Jacks, and a sister, Louise Nix. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 18 from 6-8 PM at Peters Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 19 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery with Rev Jerry Speight officiating.
