Darla LaFon

Darla Katherine LaFon, 61, passed away on April 26, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. Darla was born on January 9, 1953 to David E. and Ila Faye Newman in Portland, Oregon. Darla would meet and later marry Mack LaFon, the love of her life. Darla would create a warm and loving home for her husband and children. Darla had many interests in life; but her passion was her family. She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandson. Her warm heart, open arms and infectious smile will truly be missed.
Darla is preceded in death by her grandparents; her sister, Debbie; her daughter, Billie Marie and her nephew Daniel.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Master Sgt. Mack LaFon (ret.); sons, Christopher LaFon and his wife Jenny, David LaFon and his wife April; grandson, Christian Tyler her pride and joy; parents, David and Ila Newman; brother, Dale Newman; sister Denice Brown; as well numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral will be held the following day, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
