Mr. Bauschka passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1935 in Antigo, WI the son of Joseph and Evelyn Bauschka. Mr. Bauschka was Professor of Music at Texas A & M - Commerce for 42 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi, and a veteran of the United States Army posted to the West Point Military Band. He was a graduate of the University of North Texas where he played in the renowned "1-o'clock" Lab Band and performed with such jazz greats as Stan Kenton, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington. He touched the lives of hundreds of students with his love of music and laughter.
He is survived by wife, Holly Heard Bauschka; two sons, Christopher Bauschka of San Francisco, CA and Josef Bauschka of Brenham, TX; brother John Bauschka of Sarasota, FL; granddaughters Abigail and Audrey Bauschka of San Francisco, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, brothers Patrick and Joseph, sister Mary Rose Bauschka, and previous wife Gwen Lareau.
