Cody Wayne Perkins, 16, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. Cody was the son of Craig and Kimberly Reed Perkins and brother to Tyler and Caden Perkins. Born on July 21, 1995 in Greenville, Texas, Cody was an immediate ray of sunshine in the lives of everyone he met. Cody was a student at Boles High School in Quinlan, Texas. He was outspoken and never at a loss for words. He loved music and was learning to play the guitar. Cody never met a stranger and was always the first to help someone in need. Cody was famous for his sense of humor and love of the outdoors; and always had an encouraging word for everyone he met. Always busy, always moving, always planning, Cody was always building something or dreaming about and planning his next project. Cody was always on the move and never still for very long. This young man of promise, courage and joy of life will truly be missed. Those left to celebrate Codys life include his parents, Craig and Kimberly Perkins; his brothers, Tyler and Caden Perkins; his grandparents, Rick Perkins and his wife, Chris; Sandi Mook and her husband Gordon; Mike Reed; Debbie Little and her husband Stephen; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins; friends and neighbors. A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday evening, May 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Boles High School gymnasium in Quinlan, Texas. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Boles High School gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donation be made to the funeral home to help cover the cost of these services.
