Charlotte Marye (Goodale) Powell, age 56, of Greenville, passed away in the early evening hours of Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 30, 1954 in Cairo, Illinois, to Vernon Ruby Brazeal and Audrey Loraine Marney, they preceded her in death. Charlotte earned a degree in medical coding and most recently worked for the McKesson Corporation in Greenville. She married Herbert Wayne Powell on October 1, 1978 in Missouri; he survives after 33 years of laughing and loving each other unconditionally. Charlotte loved life and telling jokes. Her laughter was contagious and generosity was endless. She had a heart for children and took in many children throughout the years and never considered them anything other than her own. Charlotte was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose memory will live on in the hearts of those she knew and loved. Charlotte is survived by husband Herby, of Quinlan; children, Katrina Powell, and fianc David Self, Danny Powell, and fianc Nicki Lack, Tanisha Hoffman, and Cameron Turner, all of Greenville; sisters, Lula Troxell, and husband Bill, of Florida, Virginia Allen, and husband Robert, of Kemp, Barbara Brown of Missouri, and Vickie Cook of North Carolina; and grandchildren, Angel Crew and Jade Crew. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Services for Mrs. Powell will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Peters Funeral Home with Priesthood Holders Gary Hall and Ed Thatcher officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville with Robert Allen, Doug Bleimeyer, Danny Powell, David Self, Cameron Turner, and Jason Wells serving as pallbearers. David Powell and Gary Becker will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday evening at Peters Funeral Home.
