Charles Wooten, aged 72, passed away on February 24, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1952, and led a life that was characterized by love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family. A proud veteran, Charles earned his GED while serving in the military, demonstrating his dedication to personal growth and education.
A man of many interests, Charles found joy in a variety of hobbies including building furniture, tending to his yard, and working on cars. However, his most cherished moments were spent with his wife, Bonnie Wooten. Together, they enjoyed quiet rides in his truck, engaging in heartfelt conversations about life. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, and Charles often regarded marrying Bonnie as his proudest accomplishment.
Charles was known for his practical jokes and playful teasing, qualities that drew people to him and made him a beloved figure among family and friends. His personality shone brightly in all his interactions, embodying warmth and friendliness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Wooten; his sister, Karon Bishop and husband Larry; his sons, Stephen Wooten and wife Paige, and Christopher Wooten and wife Bronica; as well as his grandsons, Travis Holaway and Riley Wooten, and several nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships was deeply meaningful to Charles and contributed to the joy he brought into their lives.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, Charles Wooten; his mother, Corine Wooten; his infant son, Michael Wooten; and his brothers, Ricky Wooten and Calvin Wooten. The legacy he leaves behind will continue to be felt through the love and memories shared by those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor on March 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lannius Church of God, located at 295 Lannius Rd, Dodd City, TX 75438. Those who knew Charles are invited to come together to celebrate his life and cherish the memories of a man who touched so many hearts.
