Charles Hooks

Charles Morrison Hooks was born in Trinity, Texas on March 15, 1925 to William and Edna Hooks. Both of whom having preceded him in death. His wife was Dow Nelle Porter Hooks of Greenville. They were married for 51 years until her passing in 2011. He is survived by their son Chares M Hooks Jr. of Greenville. Dr. Hooks earned a Doctorate degree in education from UCLA and a Masters degree in music from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he retired from the Air Force Reserve as a lieutenant colonel. Dr. Hooks enjoyed teaching all band and orchestra instruments and taught private music lessons from his home until last year. He loved people, caring for his pets, telling stories and teaching. Everyone respected and loved him. He had a beautiful giving character and a brilliant diverse intellect. He was a patient, kind and loving husband and father. Dr. Hooks was loved and is extremely missed. No services are scheduled at this time.
