Cecil O. Corley, age 89, of Greenville, passed away in the mid-evening hours of Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Hunt Regional Medical Center at Greenville. Mr. Corley was born on November 5, 1921 in Graham, Young County, Texas to Printiss Owen and Mayme (Tibbitts) Corley, they preceded him in death. After graduation from high school, Cecil attended the University of Texas at Arlington before joining the United States Army " Air Corps and served his country during WWII as a crew chief working on air planes. Upon returning stateside he married Hazel Beatrice Freeman on March 17, 1948 in Dallas. She survives after 63 years of marriage. Cecil retired from Southwestern Bell as an engineer. In his free time he would often be found wood working or keeping up with his favorite sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas A&M Aggies. He will be remembered for his story telling and his strong will but most of all for the love he had for his wife and family he leaves behind. Cecil is survived by his wife, Bea, of Greenville; son, Donald Owen Corley, and wife Jackie, of Keller, TX; daughter, Jan Kimberlin, and husband Larry, of Greenville; grandchildren, Emily Marie Young, and husband Scott, Erin Dawn Bingham, and husband Hank, Elisa Beth Corley, Buddy Kimberlin, and wife Jana, and Katie Kimberlin; and great-grandchildren, Michael Young, Hannah Young, Paul Young, Tessa Young, and Olivia Rose Bingham. Services for Mr. Cecil Corley will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Peters Funeral Home with Randy Daw officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park with Hank Bingham, Donald Corley, Boyd Ferguson, Buddy Kimberlin, Larry Kimberlin, and Scott Young serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
