Bobby Clifton

Bobby Ray Clifton Sr, age 93, of Ladonia passed away on Saturday morning, June 27, 2020. Bobby was born on January 4, 1927 in Owen County, Kentucky, the son of Leonard Clifton and Mabel Johnson. He served the U.S. Navy from 1944 – 1946 as a Seaman First Class. Bobby Ray Clifton married Nancy Ann Harris in Hamilton County, Ohio on July 8, 1946. Bobby was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Commerce, Texas.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby Clifton and wife Sandra of Hamilton, AL, Gary Clifton and wife Barbra of Wolfe City, TX; daughters, Charlotte Sime and husband John of Lillington, NC, Victoria Straughan and husband John of Ladonia, TX; son in law, Randy McCullough of Macon, GA; daughter in law, Teresa Clifton of Dallas, TX; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Nadine Buchanan of Greensboro, NC; and numerous family and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Clifton; son, Larry Clifton; daughter, Margaret McCullough; grandchildren, Christopher Lloyd Bailey, Clint Ray Clifton, Randy McCullough Jr.; great-great granddaughter Brynlee Ray Clifton-Davis; and parents, Leonard and Mabel.

In leu of flowers the family ask the all donations be sent to Disabled American Veterans.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 29, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Peters Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at 10:30 am in DFW National Cemetery.
