Bobbie Wayne Posey, 81, of Greenville, Texas, passed away Dec. 5, 2017.
He was born Sept. 7, 1936, to James Posey and Erma (Grubbs) Posey in Buchanan, Ga. In 1962, he married Tommie Rusk in San Angelo.
Bob attended Texas A&M in Commerce, where he graduated with his master's degree. He spent his life proudly serving his country until he retired from Air Force Intelligence, and then went on to work at E-Systems until he retired from there as well. Bob directed the Methodist church choir in whichever town he and Tommie were living at the time. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, although his time spent fishing may have been more time just casting reels and having fun with his son-in-law, Bobby. Wherever he went, Bob had fun and caused other people to have a good time, too.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Tommie (Rusk) Posey; daughter Dianna McDonald and husband Bob; daughter Darlene Walsh and husband Brad; daughter Donna Cossey and husband Gary; daughter Deborah Posey; niece Barbara Mauk and husband Dave; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter; Elizabeth Posey; and his eight siblings.
Bob's family will receive friends and loved ones at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow immediately after at Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste, Texas, with Trevor Cossey, Kyle Tweedle, Brandon Moss, Carden Russell, Dalton Russell, and James Walker serving as pallbearers.
