Billy Joe Jackson, age 76, of Garland, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 29, 2009 at Vitas Hospice Inpatient Unit in Irving. He was born on March 31, 1933 in South Sulphur, Texas to Charley J. and Dona Lee (Daugherty) Jackson, they precede him death. After high school, Mr. Jackson married Wanda Graham, she also precedes him in death. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as mechanic and assembly technician. Billy was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Mantone, and husband Sam, of Madison, NJ and Sherri Box, and husband Ronnie, of Ft. Worth; one son, Richard Willis, and wife Linda, of Garland; grandchildren, Eugenie & Arthur Spiguel, Sam Mantone, Stephen Mantone, Susan Willis, Brian Willis, Jeffery Jackson, Megan Johnson, and Katie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Spiguel, Justin Willis, and Katelynn Renee Willis; brothers Bob Jackson, and wife Carol of Campbell, and Johnny Jackson, of Greenville. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hilton Jackson, and four sisters, Mildred Jackson, Mary Lou Hudson, Martha Newland, and Naomi Jackson. Services for Mr. Jackson will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 31, 2009 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Memoryland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 " 8 P.M. Thursday evening.
