Billy Ray Ford,, 85, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in McKinney Texas. Billy was born December 18, 1928 to Arlie Marvin and Estell Ford in Kirkland, Texas. Billy lived all his life in the Greenville area. Billy would serve his country will honor in the Korean Conflict. He met and married Norma Jean Bennett on December 23, 1950. Billy wore many hats during his life. Soldier. Oil field driller. Mechanic. He even owned his own drilling company-Fords Well Drilling for over 20 years. Billy loved hunting and the outdoors. But his greatest passion was his wife and his family. Billy loved spending time with his wife, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Billy's warm smile and open heart will be missed by all who knew him. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Estell Ford; two sisters, Mildred Beggs and Claire Stuart-Moles. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-four years, Norma Jean Ford; daughter Sue Manley and her husband Jerry; grandchildren, Shannon Manley, Lacey Coles and her husband Bill; great-grandchildren, Caleb Manley, Kade Coles and Kinsley Coles; as well numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 10. 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment at Humboldt Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
