Betty McCarley

Betty Sue McCarley, age 91, of Emory, went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of August 18, 2011. She was born on May 23, 1930 in Rockwall to Lester Snow and Mollie White Bost-Wilkerson, they preceded her in death. Betty was foremost a homemaker and mother but worked as a leather tooler for Billy Cook Saddlery and Pecina Saddle Shop with the father of her children, Ted Pecina, for many years. Her greatest love was her Lord, His word, and her children. She resided at the Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Emory and was lovingly cared for by those entrusted with her care. Betty is survived by her children Brenda Ramirez and husband Easi, Janet Olson and husband Gene, Teddy Pecina and wife Diane, Lorie Sadler and husband Charles, Linda Roberts and husband Ken, Richard Pecina, Cathy Terrie and husband Steve, Nanette Mason and husband Keith, Karen Tapley, 38 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Joe, Claude, Jack, and Bud; four sisters, Leatha, Mary Nell, Onella, and Katherine; one daughter, Terri Lou Squires; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, August 22, 2011 at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville with Reverend Larry Combs officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Emory with grandsons, Gene Olson, Jr., Glenn Olson, Bobby Reeves, Robert Krodle, Jake Krodle, Teddy Pecina, Jr., Carl Pecina, Scot Pecina, Brandon Pecina, George Matchette, Jason Mason, Zane Mason, Adam Tapley, Chris Taylor, Mathew Clark, and Roy Dean Clark, serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held Saturday evening, August 20, 2011, at the funeral home.
