Bessie Morphew

Bessie Lena Morphew, 89, of Greenville, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, January 15, 2010 at Park Haven Nursing Center of Greenville. Bessie was born on September 15, 1920 in Hunt County to Mack F. and Ethel Spurgin Gooch. Ms. Morphew had been a sewing machine operator for Shireys Co. before her retirement. She married Eugene Ferrell Morphew in Hunt County in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1981. Ms. Morphew is survived by one daughter, Debra M. Wilson; one granddaughter, Angela Bowman; one grandson, Brian Mack Wilson; two great grandchildren; Cassie and Shelby Wilson; and one brother, Forest Gooch, all of Greenville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister; Geneva Kimberlin, and three brothers; R.E. Gooch, Burton Gooch, W.D. (Dub) Gooch. Graveside services for Ms. Morphew will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18 at 2:00 PM at Tidwell Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Kimberlin officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8 at Peters Funeral Home.
