Annie June Tapp, age 85, of Greenville, passed away in the evening hours of Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Park Haven Nursing Home in Greenville surrounded by her family. She was born on January 10, 1925 in Dallas, TX to Tom and Ella Thompson Reaves, they preceded her in death. Annie married Melvin C. Tapp on August 5, 1947 in Dallas and together made a lifetime of memories. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1999 after more than 50 years of marriage. Ms. Tapp spent her free time painting and was a member of the Hunt County Home Demonstration Club and was queen bee of the Red Hat Society. Her happiest moments were spent with her grand children and great- grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Melvin C. Tapp II, and wife Kathy, of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Dedra and Darrell Bates, Kenneth Tapp, Wylie and Angie Webb, Royse City, Rodney and Kristi Wade; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Ladonia Cemetery with Joe Knight officiating. Visitation will be from 6 " 8 P.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Peters Funeral Home.
