Amanda Santiago Horton, age 79, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Briarcliff Health Care Center of Greenville. She was born on September 6, 1929 in Mexcio to Jose R. Santiago and Sofonia H. Herrera. Mrs. Horton was a faithful member of St. Williams Catholic Church. She will be missed by the many people whos hearts she has touched with her sweet smile and loving ways. Amanda enjoyed cooking for church socials, working in her antique store near Lone Oak, and quilting quilts to donate to the church or give to friends Survivors include her nephew, Dr. Hector and Belinda Santiago of Mexico, three nieces, and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford Horton, one brother and one sister. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 A.M. at St. Williams Catholic Church with a Mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father Paul Weinberger officiating. Interment will follow at Lynch Cemetery in East Tawakoni with Harvey Dorman, Jim Coe, Mark Hemberger, Mark Hoelting, Ron Pinkston, and Ray Murphy serving as pallbearers.
